Equipment Loan Closet

Hours of Operation:

Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm

Please call 845-331-0541 to schedule an appointment

RCAL provides medical equipment on loan to individuals who cannot afford to buy their own or whose insurance does not cover the cost.  We loan out equipment that has been donated to us on a short and long-term basis. Three months is the usual length of time we loan out our equipment; this can always be extended if needed.

In order to take out equipment on loan, you will first need to call to see if we have what you need (we loan out on a first come, first serve basis).  If we have what you need, we will make an appointment for you to come in and pick it up. We do ask for a small fee for the use of our equipment; $5 for small items such as walkers, canes, etc., $10 for items such as rollators and knee walkers, and $25 for larger items like wheelchairs. Please note that no person will be denied equipment for a lack of ability to pay this fee.

The following loan closet procedures have changed in response to the health and safety concerns of the current pandemic:

  • We can no longer accept donations or returns in our lobby. Items must be brought directly to the loan closet building.

  • Appointments are now required for borrowing, returning or donating to the loan closet.

  • When you arrive for your appointment, please wait in your car and call us to say you are here. We will meet you at the loan closet.
