Here is an excerpt from her bio located on her website.
"Hello, here's a little bit about me!
I'm a proud mama of five amazing children and one handsome grandson. With a great big family and a fantastic community.
On May 21, 2000 My husband and I were in a tragic motorcycle accident resulting in me becoming a full quadriplegic. Sadly, after the accident I divorced and thankfully got custody of my children. In September of 2002, I bought my beautiful home in the village of East Aurora, New York. With the help of caregivers, family and friends, I became very independent and started to paint.
My daughter was only five when the accident happened still needing help with school work. She often needed help with her cursive writing and the other children needed help with their homework as well. So out of desperation and frustration, I began to put a pen or pencil in my mouth to help with homework and sign my name.
The children would often paint or color pictures and I wanted to join in on the fun! One of my older sons suggested I start to paint my own pictures. So we devised a few different ways to paint. At first they were absolutely awful but as time went on I became better and better at art.
I applied to be in the MFPA and was accepted as a student in 2011. My art work has evolved and improved through various teachers and education. Now all my work goes to MFPA which can be purchased through them (www.mfpausa.com). Also, I'm a member of the Roycroft Arts and Craftsman Guild. Check us out at www.artsandcraftsmenguild.com!"
