Equipment Loan Closet

RCAL provides equipment on loan to individuals who can't afford to buy their own or their insurance doesn't cover the cost.  We loan out equipment that has been donated to us on a short and long-term basis.  Three months is the usual length of time which we loan out our equipment, which can always be extended if needed.

In order to take out equipment on loan, you will first need to call to see if we have what you need (we loan out on a first come, first serve basis).  Then you will have to come in and fill out a Loan Equipment Form.  You will need to bring a valid ID with you for our records, and then you will be free to take the equipment home.  We do ask for a small fee for the use of our equipment.  $5 for small items such as walkers, canes, etc. and $25 for wheelchairs and ramps.

Here is a list of some of the items RCAL has to offer:

Wheelchairs Electric Wheelchairs Portable Ramps
Canes Crutches Hoyer Lift
Bath Transfer Benches Commodes Raised Toiler Seats
Shower Seats Walkers Hospital Beds

If interested in borrowing any of the listed equipment or donating used equipment (including items not listed), please contact Kaitlin Carter or Carol Ray at 331-0541 or by e-mail kcarter@rcal.org.

If RCAL doesn't have the equipment you are looking for visit the TRAID-IN Equipment Exchange Program website or call them 1-800-624-4143. TRAID-IN is a statewide service that connects people who need equipment with those wanting to donate or sell equipment.
